Class Locations

How do online classes work?

Logical Imagination's online courses are NOT recorded courses. They are LIVE, instructor-led courses.

  • Register for your online course.
  • Some courses have printed materials, some have electronic materials. If your course has printed materials, we ship them to you prior to the class.
  • 24 to 48 hours prior to the scheduled class, you receive an email with the link and login information for your online classroom. If your course has electronic materials, they will be included with this email.
  • At the scheduled course time, follow the link in the email you received to the online classroom. Here you will join the instructor and other students for an interactive, hands-on day of learning. It's that simple!

How do onsite classes work?

  1. Request a quote for your desired course. Here are some questions to consider when requesting a quote for onsite training:
    • What course (or courses) do you need?
    • Where do you need the course (city/state of your training facility, conference room, etc.)?
    • How many students will attend the training?
    • Would you like to customize the topics?
    • When do you need the training (timeframe)?
  2. We email you an all-inclusive quote (one price for everything: training, travel, materials, etc.).
  3. If you decide to move forward, we work with you to confirm a date for the training. Payment is required to book the date.
  4. Once payment is received, we book travel for the instructor, order materials and confirm all course details.
  5. On the day of the course, the instructor will arrive 30 minutes early to get setup (you must provide a data display/projector for the instructor to connect to his or her laptop). Students join the instructor for an interactive, hands-on day of learning at your location. It's that simple!

Class Times

What time are online courses held during the day?

To accommodate multiple time zones, public online courses are scheduled from 10:00am - 5:00pm Eastern time with a one-hour lunch break at 1:00pm Eastern and a short break in the morning and afternoon.

What time are onsite courses held during the day?

Typically, private courses held at client locations are scheduled sometime between 8:00am and 5:00pm (times may vary a bit based on the class being taught or the desires of the client) with a one-hour lunch break and a short break in the morning and afternoon.

Can I customize the class times for my group?

Of course! If Logical Imagination is conducting a private, custom online or onsite class for your group, class times can be varied to fit your schedule.

Do you ever cancel a class due to low enrollment?

We do not cancel public courses due to low enrollment, so we will run the class even if you are the only student. However, we will give you the option to reschedule if you prefer to be in a session with more people.

Convenient Environment

How do I login to the courses?

Logical Imagination's online courses are taught using GoToMeeting, so you don't have to travel to a training center. You can attend courses from your home, office or anywhere with a high-speed internet connection. You will receive an email with login instructions 24 - 48 hours prior to the class. Be sure to check your spam or junk folder in case the email has been misdirected by your system.

Why do you use GoToMeeting as your classroom technology?

Logical Imagination uses GoToMeeting because it allows you to see the instructor's computer screen and to listen to the instructor at all times as long as your computer is equipped with speakers. If your computer has no speakers, you can connect via telephone.

How can I check my ability to connect prior to class?

If you want to see if your computer meets the minimum requirements for joining us in a GoToMeeting classroom, please visit the system test page.

Guarantee

What if I am not satisfied with a class?

If you are not completely satisfied, Logical Imagination will give you credit toward another course or a full refund as long as you followed any class setup instructions and had your computer ready before the beginning of class. If there are setup instructions, they are emailed along with your classroom login information.

Can I retake a class?

Sometimes students want to retake a class as a refresher or to get more practice with challenging topics. Logical Imagination allows you to retake a class as many times as you would like as long as the class is already running. In other words, we will not run a class just for a retake, but you are welcome to sit in on any future sessions that are already scheduled to run.

Group Discounts

Do you offer any group discounts?

Our online registration system automatically applies discounts for multiple students (or multiple courses for the same student), as follows, so if you do register for a virtual session, be sure to register all students at the same time to get the discount:

Registrations Discount
2 registrations 5%
3-4 registrations 10%
5 or more registrations 15%

We also have arrangements with many high-volume corporate clients to give automatic discounts to any of their employees. Contact us to discuss this program.

Excellent Materials

When and how will I receive the book or materials for the class?

Logical Imagination ships your class materials a few days prior to the scheduled class. The materials for some of our courses are in an electronic format and will be sent via email. A day or two prior to the start of class, you will receive an email with any setup instructions as well as your classroom login information. Be sure to check your spam or junk folder in case the email has been misdirected by your system.

Expert Instructors

Are your instructors third-party contractors?

Logical Imagination does not use contract trainers. All of our instructors are full-time employees of Logical Imagination who are active designers and developers when they aren't in the classroom. Logical Imagination is a boutique technology development and consulting firm, and each person here teaches courses in their daily areas of expertise. The average employee has been with us for more than 12 years.

Why are your instructors so good?

Logical Imagination instructors aren't "book trainers" (meaning they only know what is in the book and can't deviate from the materials). When they aren't in the classroom, our instructors are active designers and developers, working on cutting-edge projects for our clients worldwide. This allows them to enhance the course materials with tips, tricks, insights, and examples from real life and to answer your questions from experience.

Are your instructors available for projects and consulting?

Logical Imagination is first and foremost a development and consulting firm. Training is just one aspect of our services. So, yes, we would be happy to quote on your project or provide consulting to your team. We have carved out many long-term working relationships from the humble beginnings of a training class!

Individual Attention

What is the average class size?

Logical Imagination prefers small class sizes (typically 2 - 8 students) for our public online courses. Small class sizes allow the instructor to focus on individual performance and issues and to meet the unique needs of each student. Private onsite courses vary in size, but we usually like to keep them under 12 students.

Can I ask questions?

You can ask questions at ANY time during the class. Most sessions are very conversational. And, the instructor answers questions and reviews exercise/lab solutions before moving on to the next new concept.

How do I ask questions if I have no microphone?

If you don't have a microphone, you can connect via telephone if you prefer to ask questions verbally. Alternately, you can submit questions or comments via the online classroom's chat interface. And, with your permission, the instructor can view your computer screen if you need individual assistance.

Can I ask questions AFTER the class?

Yes! Logical Imagination instructors are willing and available to answer follow-up questions after a class. They will always provide their email address at the end of the session. It isn't unusual for us to receive a question from a student more than a year after their session!

Interactive Learning

Are the courses hands-on, or do I just watch?

Logical Imagination incorporates audio (hear), visual (watch) and kinesthetic (do) techniques into every class. Typically, the instructor explains a new concept and shows a live demonstration, allowing you to listen, watch and work along at the same time. There are many opportunities for you to try your new skills with hands-on exercises and labs.

Will I have a chance to try my new skills during class?

Courses are designed to be a hands-on learning experience, providing opportunities for you to try your new skills while the instructor is available to answer questions and give feedback.

Can the instructor see MY computer screen?

The instructor can only view your computer screen if you give him or her permission. You must click a button in the interface that "opens" that door. This can be helpful if you get stuck on an exercise or need the instructor to provide one-on-one assistance that requires them to see your screen.

Is this a risk-free proposition?
